At PCU we've helped hundreds of people purchase their first home, dream home, vacation property and more. PCU’s dedicated team of Mortgage Advisors process mortgage applications every day and are here to help guide you through the home buying process from beginning to end.
When purchasing a home with Postal Credit Union you can expect:
Find out what you can afford!
The first step in the purchase process is to determine what you can afford and how much financing you may qualify for. Talk with a PCU Mortgage Advisor to determine a pre-qualification or pre-approved mortgage amount. View our Mortgage Application checklist to make the process as efficient as possible.
Your house hunting has concluded and the seller has accepted your offer. Now what? A PCU Mortgage Advisor will work with you to finalize your mortgage and schedule a closing date.
Closing on your mortgage
Closing is the final step in the home-buying process – the legal transaction during which the title for the property is formally transferred from seller to buyer. A closing agent will coordinate the closing and distribute the paperwork and funds according the terms agreed upon by you and the seller of the property. Once all of the paperwork has been signed, you're a homeowner! The closing agent will ensure that the paperwork is recorded in the county where the property is located.
