Who we are Established by Postal Credit Union (PCU) in 2005, the PCU Community Foundation is a nonprofit 501 (c) (3) dedicated to helping communities in the greater Twin Cities metropolitan area.
The foundation operates under the guidance of a Board of Directors, which oversees its financial management. The board also sets policies and procedures for fundraising and grant making in accordance with its by-laws and mission.
By investing in education, financial literacy and our communities, we can ensure a greater quality of life for all residents.
Our mission & goal The mission of the PCU Community Foundation is to strengthen the quality of life within our communities by supporting local education initiatives at a variety of levels, including early childhood development, financial literacy programs in our elementary and secondary schools, and beyond.
Our goal is to build an endowment fund to help fill the gaps in education funding and provide educators with additional resources otherwise not available.
Who we serve Among the benefactors we hope to serve are:
- Early childhood development
- Elementary, secondary and post-secondary schools
- Financial literacy programs for youth and adults
- And more!
The PCU Community Foundation recently partnered with NEFE, the National Endowment for Financial Education. NEFE's missions is to help individuals acquire the information and skills needed to take control of their financial destinies.
As funds grow, we hope to add local food shelves and affordable housing initiatives to this list of recipients. With your help all of this is possible!
